Andrew Jackson Architects is a Manchester-based practice working at the intersection of research, technology, and sustainable design. Established in 2023, the practice has rapidly built a diverse portfolio, ranging from commercial retrofits for Special Educational Needs (SEN) schools to residential extensions, refurbishments, and international masterplans. Each project embodies a fusion of bold creativity and precision, delivering thoughtful, well-executed outcomes from concept to completion.
Innovation and collaboration drive the practice, with the studio developing DesignXBuild - an AI-powered platform set to transform architectural design and procurement (currently in proof of concept) - and leading Neighbouring Projects, a community-focused retrofit initiative. Both projects are supported by Innovate UK, reflecting the practice’s commitment to forward-thinking solutions. This approach has garnered recognition, including a commendation in RIBA’s Rethink 2025, a shortlisting for the 2024 RIBA Journal Rising Star Award, and a feature in the Architects’ Journal’s New Practice series.
Beyond built work, Andrew Jackson Architects actively shapes architectural discourse through academia, the Manchester Society of Architects, and the Northwest Small Practice Forum, challenging conventions and bridging theory with practice.
